Two teams entered the 2024 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic for the first time in Burlington Central and Wheaton Academy.  After a two-year hiatus, Saint Rita returned to HC Squared.

Maine South outscored Oswego East in the fourth quarter of the tournament's opening game and advanced to the winners bracket with a 52-47 victory.  Brother Rice improved their record to 11-0 with a 67-44 win over St. Charles East.  After a tight first quarter, Lane Tech outscored St. Rita by 30 points en route to a 67-34 victory.  Rockford Auburn's Amir Danforth set a single-game tournament scoring record with a 42-point performance, as the Knights defeated Wheaton Academy 69-65 in first round action.

In the evening session of opening round competition Burlington Central trailed for over 29 minutes and outscored Marian Catholic 9-2 down the stretch to lay claim to a 56-54 victory.  Nine different players scored in Hinsdale Central's 64-35 victory over Plainfield East, as the Red Devils led 41-17 at half.  Niles North's starting lineup tallied 70 points on the evening in their 77-46 win over Morton.  Schaumburg shot 51% from the floor, as Zion Young recorded a double-double in the Saxons 70-54 victory over Morgan Park.

In Day Two Consolation Round action Oswego East, Wheaton Academy, Marian Catholic and Morgan Park all recorded victories.  Wheaton's Hayden Schroeder became the second player in as many days to surpass the 40-point total, as the Warriors leading scorer shot 19-of-22 from the floor and finished with 41 points.  Brother Rice shot 57% in disposing Maine South from the winners bracket, as the Crusaders received 69 points from the starters, in the 75-59 win.  Lane Tech outscored Rockford Auburn 20-8 in the fourth quarter, as the champions advanced to the first ever HC Squared Final Four, with a 67-60 victory.  Host Hinsdale Central took advantage of their home court, and shot 10-of-22 from three-point range as the Red Devils upended Burlington Central 70-65.  The final quarter final of the evening saw Niles North outscore Schaumburg 34-22 in the second half, as the Vikings won 64-48.  Hunter Gawron had a double-double for Niles North.
