HINSDALE, Ill. – Sam Tisch scored a game-high 17 points to lead St. Charles East to a 56-36 victory over St. Rita in a consolation game of the 2024 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. St. Charles East (6-6) never trailed in the contest, grabbing a 5-2 lead three minutes into the opening quarter and leading the rest of the way. The Saints led 10-7 after the first quarter and 25-17 at the half. The Saints led by as many as 22 points before holding on for the 20 point win. Tisch led the Saints with 17 points while shooting 6-of-9 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from three-point distance. Bradley Monkemeyer and Marco Klebosits both finished with seven points and 11 rebounds apiece for the Saints. Saint Charles East shot 38.0 percent (19-of-50) from the floor, including 29.2 percent (7-of-24) from three-point range. The Saints dominated on the glass, outrebounding St. Rita 49-27. Eze Nwagwu led St. Rita in the loss, finishing with 15 points. St. Charles East will face the winner of the Plainfield East/Morton game on Monday at 11:00 a.m. St. Rita will the loser of the Plainfield East/Morton game on Monday at 9:30 a.m. |
