HINSDALE, Ill. – Mason Lockett's 21-point performance spurred Oswego East to a 67-53 win against Marian Catholic in the consolation championship of the 2024 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

A high-scoring first quarter concluded in Oswego East's favor at 24-16. The Wolfpack shot a blistering 71 percent from the field in the period. While the offense slowed a bit in the second quarter, Oswego East still held sway and went into halftime with a 36-30 lead. Mason Lockett put up 10 points in the half, as seven different Wolfpack players scored at least three points.

Marian Catholic was bouyed by guard Zack Sharkey's 14 points in the half. However, the Spartans committed seven turnovers compared to only one by Oswego East.

The Wolfpack kept its advantage the rest of the contest. A 9-2 run from the third quarter to midway through the fourth quarter gave Oswego East a 57-45 lead that it would not relinquish. Marian Catholic tried to get the ball in Sharkey's hands down the stretch, but the Wolfpack consistently doubled Sharkey on the catch to keep him from creating his offense.

Oswego East (9-5 record) shot 51 percent from the field, including 20 percent from three-point range (3-15) and 58 percent from the charity stripe (14-24). Lockett proved hard to stop, as he tallied 21 points with eight rebounds and four assists. Locket was subsequently picked to the All-Tournament Team. Damien Lewandowski scored 12 points, while Andrew Pohlman posted six points, 11 rebounds and an impressive six steals. Torrin Ross contributed 10 points and five rebounds.

Marian Catholic (11-5 record) was limited to 37 percent shooting overall, 23 percent from beyond the arc (4-17) and 65 percent from the free throw line (11-17). Sharkey finished with 16 points. Delan Davis was next highest on the stat sheet with 14 points. Jordan Walker added 10 points.
