GAME 20 -- Marian Catholic 67, Morgan Park 39

HINSDALE, Ill. – Zach Sharkey scored 17 points, and four other Spartans reached double figures in scoring to lead Marian Catholic to a 67-39 win over Morgan Park and into the consolation bracket championship at the 2024 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Marian Catholic (11-4) opened the contest on an 8-1 run and never looked back, building a 22-8 lead after one quarter and a 43-13 lead at the half. The Spartans led by as many as 22 points and cruised to the 28-point victory.

Sharkey led the way for Marian Catholic with 17 points and nine rebounds. He added two assists and three blocked shots. Delan Davis added 11 points and four rebounds while Landon Mays, Tyler Jolly and Jodan Walker scored 10 points apiece for the Spartans. Mays also collected nine rebounds for Marian Catholic.

Marian Catholic shot 42.6 percent (26-of-61) from the floor and outscored Morgan Park (8-5) 34-16 in the paint while also outrebounding the Mustangs 45-29.

Daniel Wallace came off the bench to score 11 points and lead the Mustangs in the loss. Raymond Gilbert added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Marian Catholic will take on Oswego East in Monday’s consolation championship game at 3:45 p.m. Morgan Park will face Wheaton Academy on Monday at 12:30 p.m.
