HINSDALE, Ill. – KJ Miller and Joshua Stone totaled 13 points apiece to lead Plainfield East to a 52-48 win over Morton in the consolation round of the 2024 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

The contest featured three lead changes and three ties. Morton (1-12) led 14-9 after one quarter, but Plainfield East (5-8) pulled even at 24-24 at the half. Plainfield East moved in front in the third quarter, outscoring the Mustangs 15-9 and never looking back.

Miller and Stone scored 13 points apiece to pace Plainfield East in the win. Miller pulled down a team-best eight rebounds in the win. Kobe Jordan added 10 points and six rebounds.

Plainfield East shot 38.6 percent (17-of-44) from the floor, including 40.0 percent (8-of-20) from downtown. Morton shot 28.1 percent (6-of-18) from the field and 23.1 percent (6-of-26) from beyond the arc.

Donovan Johnson scored a game-high 20 points to pace Morton in the loss. Devyn Medina added 10 points.

With the win, Plainfield East will take on St. Charles East on Monday in a consolation game at 11:00 a.m. Morton will face St. Rita on Monday in a consolation game at 9:30 a.m.
