HINSDALE, Ill. – Three players reached double figures in scoring to lead Schaumburg to a 47-41 win over Plainfield East in a consolation game at the 2023 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. Schaumburg (11-6) led 17-11 after the first quarter and held a 25-24 lead at the half. The Saxons lengthened their lead to 36-33 after three quarters before pulling away for the 47-41 victory. Schaumburg shot 35.6 percent (16-of-45) from the floor, hitting 16-of-45 attempts. The Saxons turned 14 Plainfield East (6-10) turnovers into 21 points. Jordan Tunis led the way for Schaumburg with 17 points and five assists. Zion Young and Tyler March added 10 points apiece in the win. March pulled down nine rebounds while Young added six boards. Kobe Jordan led Plainfield East in the loss, finishing with 11 points and seven rebounds. Ebi Ogbomo added eight points and eight rebounds in the loss. |
