2022 GAME 22 RECAP: HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR 74, ROCKFORD AUBURN 61

HINSDALE, Ill. – Homewood-Flossmoor secured a spot in tomorrow’s fifth-place match of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic by defeating Rockford Auburn 74-61.

Homewood-Flossmoor (10-5) never trailed in the contest. The Vikings scored the first five points of the game and quickly built a 21-11 lead after one quarter. The Vikings led 35-23 at the half and 58-38 after three. Homewood-Flossmoor led by as many as 25 points in the fourth quarter before cruising to the 13-point win.

Vincent Davis paced Homewood-Flossmoor in the win, scoring a game-high 18 points while pulling down nine rebounds. Gakobie McNeal came off the bench to record a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Carson Brownfield added 14 points while Jayden Tyler scored 13. Dais and Brownfield added nine rebounds apiece. The Vikings shot 48.3 percent (29-of-60) from the floor, including 42.9 percent (6-of-14) from downtown. Homewood-Flossmoor won the rebounding battle 41-31 and outscored the Knights 42-22 in the paint.

Rockford Auburn (10-5) shot 36.4 percent (20-of-55) from the floor and just 33.3 percent (6-of-18) from downtown. Adrian Agee led the way for Rockford Auburn with 15 points. Terry Horton added 10 points while Rakim Chaney scored nine.

Rockford Auburn will face Morgan Park in a consolation game tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. Homewood-Flossmoor will take on Stevenson in tomorrow's fifth-place match at 5:15 p.m.
