2022 GAME 19 RECAP: RICHARDS vs. LINCOLN-WAY CENTRAL

HINSDALE, Ill. – Lincoln-Way Central outscored Richards, 31-19, in the second half to win the contest 58-49 and advance to the consolation bracket championship in day three of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

It was a back-and-forth battle on offense with three different lead changes throughout the contest. Richards (6-9) led by as many as nine in the third quarter, while Lincoln-Way Central (4-8) held a 12-point lead late in the fourth quarter.                                                                 

The Knights finished with three players in double-figures. Leading the way was Jack Barett with 18 points and six rebounds.  Following closely behind was Ben McLaughlin who added in 15 points and six boards, while Braden Meyer contributed 10 points in the win for LWC.    

Eddie Hrebic led the way for the Bulldogs with 15 points. Camren King added in 12 points and four rebounds, while Donnie Burton chipped in eight points and dished out three assists of his own in the loss for Richards.   

LWC shot 36.2 percent (17-of-47) from the field, including 23.5 percent (4-of-17) from downtown compared to the Bulldogs 36.4 percent (16-of-44) from the field and 22.7 percent (5-of-22) from behind the arc. 

Lincoln-Way Central will face the winner of the Maine South/St. Charles East contest in the consolation bracket championship on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. Richards will take-on the loser of the Maine South/St. Charles East game at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
