2022 GAME 18  RECAP: OAK FOREST vs. WILLOWBROOK

HINSDALE, Ill. – Willowbrook took down Oak Forest, 79-73, in a double overtime thriller in day three of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

It was a back-and-forth battle on offense with 12 different lead changes throughout the contest. Oak Forest (5-7) led by as many as nine, while Willowbrook (2-10) held a six-point lead late in the second overtime.                                                                 

The Warriors finished with four players in double-figures. Leading the way was Noah Campbell with 30 points.  Following closely behind was Isaac Sobieszczyk who added in a double-double featuring with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Luke Davis contributed 13 points and seven boards. Rounding out the double-digit scorers for Willowbrook was Joey Tumilty who chipped in 12 points and dished out five assists in the win.                                                                       

Bryant Green led the way for the Bengals with 16 points and seven rebounds. DeShawn Nolan and Amari Brownlee added in 15 points apiece along with six and three assists respectively. Johnny Wiggins chipped in 10 points of his own in the loss for Oak Forest. 

Willowbrook shot 42.0 percent (29-of-69) from the field, including 25.0 percent (5-of-20) from downtown compared to the Bengals 55.4 percent (31-of-56) from the field and 30.4 percent (7-of-23) from behind the arc. 

Willowbrook will face Morton on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Oak Forest will take-on Glenbard East at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
