2022 GAME 17 RECAP: MORTON vs. GLENBARD EAST

HINSDALE, Ill. – Morton narrowly defeated Glenbard East, 73-70, in day three of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

It was a back-and-forth battle on offense with six different lead changes throughout the contest. Morton (6-6) led by as many 11, while Glenbard East (3-11) held a six-point lead early in the fourth quarter.                                                                 

The Mustangs boasted four players in double-figures. Leading the way was Adrian Anderson with 16 points and 10 assists. Following closely behind was Fabien Tucker who finished with 14 points and five rebounds, while Michael Barnes chipped in a double-double featuring 13 points and 13 boards. Rounding out the double-digit scorers for Morton was Victor Garrett who added in 12 points and six rebounds in the win.                                                                       

Michael Nee and Trevor Rehnstrom led the way for the Rams with 13 points apiece. Aleks Jajic added in a double-double featuring 10 points and 10 boards. Jack Ryan contributed 11 points for Glenbard East in the loss. Rehnstrom also posted a game-high 18 rebounds. 

The Mustangs shot 41.0 percent (32-of-78) from the field, including 19.0 percent (4-of-21) from downtown compared to the Rams 37.9 percent (25-of-66) from the field and 35.0 percent (7-of-20) from behind the arc. 

Morton will face the winner of the Willowbrook/Oak Forest contest on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Glenbard East will take-on the loser of the Willowbrook/Oak Forest game at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
