Thirteen schools of a sixteen team field have been announced that will participate in the Inaugural Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic, December 26, 28, 29, 30, 2015. Crespi Carmelite of Encino, California, Crete-Monee, DePaul College Prep, Hinsdale Central, Homewood-Flossmoor, Lincoln Park, Maine South, Perspectives Math & Science Academy, Richards, Rockford Auburn, Saint Charles East, Stevenson and Westinghouse will be part of the initial participants. The remainder of the field will be finalized at a later date. The tournament blends teams from different geographic locations with various styles of play and has a number of highly touted underclass players that will rank among the top recruits for the next several years. The current group of 13 teams has both a current and previous history of basketball excellence. Eight teams have been ranked this year, eleven have previous state tournament appearances, and two are defending Holiday Tournament champions. Some of the top underclassmen expected to play in the initial field include: Class of 2018 standouts Ayo Dosunmu, Westinghouse; Marquan Williams, Perspectives MSA; Class of 2017 recruits Jaylan Catledge, Richards; Dwayne Rose, Crete-Monee; Justin Smith, Stevenson; and Class of 2016 players Mike Curry, Lincoln Park; and De’Anthony Melton, Crespi Carmelite. All games will be played in the Hinsdale Central Gymnasium, which is an outstanding venue that annually hosts the IHSA Supersectional and the High School Hoops Showdown. The event will feature all sixteen teams playing each of the four days, and a full day admission price of five dollars for spectators. More information,
