Three schools that compiled a
collective 78-21 win-loss record this season will be the new participants to
the 2025 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. Lincoln-Way East, St. Laurence
and Waubonsie Valley will all be making their first appearance at HC
Squared. The three new schools represent teams from three conferences that
were not part of the previous HC Holiday Classic.
Each one of the new teams brings an impressive resume to the Hinsdale
hardwood. Lincoln-Way East, a member of the Southwest Suburban Conference,
has won 60 games over the past three seasons. St. Laurence has amassed a
72-30 mark over the past three years and has a perfect record in the Chicago
Catholic League White Division the last two seasons. And Waubonsie Valley,
champions of the DuPage Valley Conference this year, has won 58 out of 64
games in the last two seasons.
Ten teams that are entered in next year’s HC Holiday Classic won twenty or
more games this year, and six clubs were crowned as conference champions.
Tournament Manager Joe Spagnolo echoed the addition of the new participants,
“The opportunity to bring in three quality programs from three conferences
that did not play in last year’s event speaks volumes. We anticipate having
the deepest and most competitive field we have ever had in our tournament’s
existence. The Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic will be the must-see event
in Chicagoland next December.”
The sixteen teams entered in the 2025 event, which is composed of teams from
sixteen different conferences, includes: Brother Rice, Burlington Central,
Hinsdale Central, Lane Tech, Lincoln-Way East, Maine South, Morgan Park,
Niles North, Oswego East, Plainfield East, Rockford Auburn, Schaumburg, St.
Charles East, St. Laurence, Waubonsie Valley and Wheaton Academy.
The four-day tournament is scheduled for December 26-27, 29-30, 2025.
