HINSDALE, Ill. – St. Charles East outscored Richards 40-17 in the half while rolling to a 71-52 win in a consolation game at the 2022 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

St. Charles East (7-7) never trailed in the contest, scoring the game’s opening bucket and leading for the duration. The Saints led 17-10 after one quarter before outscoring Richards (6-10) 23-7 in the second quarter to carry a 40-17 lead into halftime.

The Saints led by as many as 31 points in the second half before cruising to the 19-point victory.

Jack Borri came off the bench to spark St. Charles, finishing with 13 points, including three 3-pointers. Steven Call added 10 points while Drew Clarke scored eight. The Saints shot 51.0 percent (25-of-49) from the floor, including 36.0 percent (9-of-25) from beyond the arc. They also controlled the glass, outrebounding Richards 37-25.

Richards shot 40.0 percent (20-of-50) from the field, including 26.7 percent (4-of-15) from downtown. The Bulldogs were led by Marcus Jennings’ nine-point performance.
