2022 GAME 21 RECAP: STEVENSON 70, MORGAN PARK 55

HINSDALE, Ill. – Stevenson advanced into the fifth-place game of the 2022 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic by defeating Morgan Park 70-55.

Stevenson (10-2) took control early in the first quarter and built a 19-10 lead at the end of eight minutes. The Patriots did not trail for the duration of the contest, leading 31-24 at the half and 48-38 after three quarters. Stevenson led by as many as 20 points in the fourth quarter before coasting to the 20-point victory.

Stevenson shot 58.3 percent (28-of-48) from the floor, including 46.2 percent (6-of-13) from downtown. Stevenson dominated on the glass, outrebounding Morgan Park 31-11. Stevenson outscored the Morgan Park (5-10) 42-22 in the paint.

Aidan Bardic led the Patriots in the win, scoring a game-high 20 points while shooting 9-of-10 from the floor. He added five assists in the win. Christian Uremovich added 12 points while Jack Dabbs finished with 10 points off the bench. Michael Maloney tallied eight points and seven rebounds while David Sulnius scored nine points and grabbed six rebounds.

Morgan Park shot 47.6 percent (20-of-42) from the floor, including 47.4 percent (9-of-19) from downtown. Orlando James paced the Mustangs with 17 points while Dwayne Haliburton scored 14.

Morgan Park will play the loser of Homewood-Flossmoor/Rockford Auburn in a consolation game at 2:00 p.m. Stevenson will face the winner of Homewood-Flossmoor/Rockford Auburn in tomorrow's fifth-place match at 5:15 p.m.
