2022 GAME 16 RECAP: HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR vs. HINSDALE CENTRAL

HINSDALE, Ill. – Hinsdale Central used an 11-point first half lead to guide them to a 69-59 victory over Homewood-Flossmoor in the quarter-finals of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.

Homewood-Flossmoor (7-5) outscored  Hinsdale Central by one-point in the second half, 38-37, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 11-point lead the Red Devils created in the first half.                                 

Hinsdale Central (10-3) was led by Ben Oosterbaan with 26 points, five assists and eight boards. Following closely behind was Patrick Graham who finished with 15 points and fiverebounds, while Chase Collignon chipped in 11 points and pulled down seven rebounds in the win for the Red Devils.                                                      

Leading the way for the Vikings was Carson Brownfield with 25 points and nine rebounds, while Jayden Tyler finished with 14 points and dished out two assists. Caleb Chavers and Gakobie McNeal added in seven points apiece in the loss.                               

The shot Vikings 34.0 percent (18-of-53) from the field, including 16.7percent (4-of-24) from downtown compared to the Red Devils 50.0 percent (24-of-48) from the field and 40.0 percent (4-of-10) from behind the arc. 

Hinsdale Central will face Marian Catholic  in Wednesday’s semifinal at 8:30 p.m. Homewood Flossmoor will take-on Rockford Auburn in the fifth-place bracket at 5:15 p.m.
