HINSDALE, Ill. - In a battle of juggernauts, it was Homewood-Flossmoor that prevailed in the first championship semifinal of the tournament, as the Vikings advanced to the title game with a 55-48 win over Stevenson. Nashawn Holmes led Homewood-Flossmoor with 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists on the night.

A tough first quarter set the storyline for the rest of the night for the Patriots, shooting 2-of-12 in the opening frame.

The difference for Homewood-Flossmoor on Tuesday was their presence in the paint (28-22 scoring advantage) and maximizing their opportunities with second chance points (10-3).

While the Vikings held the lead for nearly the entire game, the largest advantage they held was nine points, as Stevenson kept matters close all night long.

Homewood-Flossmoor advances to the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic Championship, where they will face the winner of Oswego East and Hinsdale Central.
