2021 GAME TWENTY RECAP: ROCKFORD AUBURN vs. ST. CHARLES EAST HINSDALE, Ill. - Rockford Auburn rode the wave of its five players in double-digits Tuesday evening on its way to a 68-55 win over St. Charles East at the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. Michael Jones turned in a double-double for the Knights with 14 points and 11 rebounds and was joined by his teammate, Robert Chaney, who finished with 15 points, seven assists and six rebounds.Fresh off their first win of the season, the Saints kept matters close in the first quarter, only to see the one-point deficit slip away after a 26.3 percent shooting performance in the second quarter. To make matters worse, Rockford Auburn shot 56 percent to open an 11-point lead heading into the halftime break. The second half was closely contested from start to finish, but St. Charles East couldn’t manufacture a stop defensively to help mount a comeback effort. With the win, the Knights advance to the consolation championship where they will face Morton, who were winners over Lincoln-Way Central.
