2021 GAME NINETEEN RECAP: MORTON vs. LINCOLN-WAY CENTRAL

Box Score

HINSDALE, Ill. - Just as quickly as Lincoln-Way Central opened a lead over Morton did it disappear. The Knights led by seven with 3:03 to go in the second quarter before the Mustangs flipped the script and never looked back. Eliseo Gonzalez fueled Morton, finishing with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including 6-of-10 from behind the arc.

The two sides combined to attempt 57 3-pointers, equaling a 38 percent efficiency rate. Only eight of Lincoln-Way Central’s 53 points came in the paint while Morton totaled 22.

Perhaps the biggest advantage for the Mustangs came on the glass where they finished with a 12-rebound advantage, including an 11-5 margin on the offensive glass.

Morton advances to Wednesday’s consolation championship where they will face the winner of Rockford Auburn and St. Charles East.
