2021 GAME NINETEEN RECAP: RICHARDS vs. GLENBARD EAST

Box Score

HINSDALE, Ill. - Much like the opener on Tuesday, Richards and Glenbard East was a fairly one-sided affair, with Richards leading for nearly the entire length of the game. Deven Jiles led all players on the scoresheet, finishing with 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the Bulldogs over the Rams, 65-53.

Richards came away from the opening quarter with a two-point lead, despite outshooting their counterparts. In fact, this would be a storyline for the entire game as the Bulldogs struggled from the free-throw line, going 13-of-25. Those 12 missed points kept Glenbard East in the game and within striking distance for much of the game.

The turnover mini-game once again proved to play a major factor as Richards turned 15 Glenbard East turnovers into 24 points. Add 21 fast break points into the mix and it’s a recipe for success.

With the win, the Bulldogs advance to face the winner of Morton and Lincoln-Way Central for the consolation championship.
