2021 GAME SIXTEEN RECAP: HINSDALE CENTRAL vs. DEPAUL PREP

Box Score

HINSDALE, Ill. - The evening finale did anything but disappoint on Thursday as the hosts put on a show in front of the hometown crowd, upsetting DePaul Prep, 45-44. Benjamin Oosterbaan was a one-man wrecking crew for the Red Devils, finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds, both going for game-highs.

The two sides proved to be the perfect matchup for each other, as neither team managed to build more than a five-point lead all night. In fact, the first quarter was the only frame that ended with either side having more than a one-point lead.

While a majority of the statline was even, one key area proved to be a major difference…free-throws. Hinsdale Central was 12-of-16 while DePaul Prep struggled, going 7-of-17. Despite hauling in 13 offensive rebounds, the Rams only converted on two of those opportunities, finishing with four second chance points.

Hinsdale Central advances to face Oswego East who kept their perfect season alive with a thrilling win over Marian Catholic. DePaul Prep turn their attention to the Spartans of Marian Catholic for a shot at the fifth place game of the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic.
