2021 GAME FIFTEEN RECAP: MARIAN CATHOLIC vs. OSWEGO EAST HINSDALE, Ill. - Not to be outdone by the show that Homewood-Flossmoor and Saint Rita put on in the 5:15 game, Oswego East and Marian Catholic put together another dazzling showcase at the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. The Wolfpack came back from a 14-point deficit in the second half to remain unbeaten on the season, winning 54-49 in overtime.It was the Spartans who raced out to an early lead, taking a 29-22 advantage after 16 minutes. Marian Catholic was 7-of-13 in the first quarter while holding Oswego East to 35.7 percent shooting and 5-of-14. In fact, the Spartans looked to be well on their way to their ninth win of the season after the third quarter, leading 42-32. From out of seemingly nowhere, the Wolfpack arose from their slumber and crafted a 15-5 run in the fourth quarter to find level ground, denying a game-winning shot at the buzzer to force overtime. With the four extra minutes, Oswego East built off their fourth quarter run and recorded their 13th win of the season in the process. The Wolfpack dominated the glass with 13 offensive rebounds to Marian Catholic’s four, resulting in 15 second chance points. Oswego East turned 16 Spartan turnovers into 22 points.
