2021 GAME FOURTEEN RECAP: HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR vs. SAINT RITA

Box Score

HINSDALE, Ill. - The two basketball titans produced a good case for best game of the day, as Homewood-Flossmoor (6-2) erased a five-point deficit in the final four minutes to knock off Saint Rita (9-4), 61-59.

The two sides went shot-for-shot in the first quarter, ending deadlocked at 16-all. The Vikings looked to be locked in from distance after a 3-for-5 showing in the first quarter, only to shoot blanks in the final eight minutes of the half. Fifty percent shooting from the Mustangs in the second quarter resulted in a four-point lead at the half.

Neither team showed any signs of slowing down coming out of the break, combining to shoot 15-for-25 in the third quarter. Homewood-Flossmoor really turned on the pressure in the fourth quarter, outshooting Saint Rita just enough to take a late lead. The Mustangs had a chance at the buzzer to win, but Jaedin Reyna’s heave could not find the bottom of the net.

Christian Meeks was the lone Viking in double-digits Thursday, shooting 12-of-18 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe.
