2019 GAME 17: LINCOLN-WAY CENTRAL 63, GLENBROOK NORTH 51 HINSDALE, Ill. - Lincoln Way Central scored a 63-51 win over Glenbrook North in a consolation game at the 2019 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. Lincoln-Way Central (7-4) jumped out to an 8-4 lead after one quarter and opened up a 29-17 lead at the half. Glenbrook North (4-10) charged back in the third quarter, closing the gap to just three points with 1:30 remaining in the third, but the Knights carried a 37-32 lead into the fourth quarter. Lincoln-Way Central pushed its lead back up to double digits midway in the fourth and then pulled away for the 15-point win. The Knights shot 42.6 percent (20-of-47) from the floor, including 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from downtown. Sean Curran paced Lincoln-Way Central in the win, finishing with 17 points and five rebounds. Matt Maloney added 13 points and James Ogrodnik scored 11. Glenbrook North shot 42.2 percent (19-of-45) from the floor, including 50.0 percent (5-of-10) from beyond the arc. Jeremy Gertz and Ben Foster scored 12 points apiece to lead the Spartans. Nick Pavlovic and Demo Katsis finished with 10 points apiece. Lincoln-Way Central will face the winner of the Willowbrook/Hinsdale Central game tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. Glenbrook North will face the loser of the Willowbrook/Hinsdale Central contest tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. |
