2018 GAME SEVEN RECAP: Homewood-Flossmoor 52, Hinsdale 40 HINSDALE, Ill. – Homewood-Flossmoor led from wire-to-wire and secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic with a 52-40 opening-round win over the Hinsdale Central. Homewood-Flossmoor (6-3) scored the first 11 points and never looked back, leading for the entire contest. The Vikings led 11-3 after the first quarter and carried a 27-16 lead into the locker room at halftime. H-F extended its lead to 14 late in the third quarter and led by 10 entering the final quarter. The Vikings scored the first six points of the fourth to open up a 16-point cushion before Hinsdale Central (2-8) slowly cut into the lead. The Red Devils pulled to within seven points with 1:10 remaining, but came no closer as H-F pulled away for the 12-point win. H-F shot 47.2 percent from the floor, hitting 17-of-36 attempts. RJ Ogom led the way for the Vikings with 12 points and seven rebounds. Maurion Scott added 11 points and nine rebounds while Oscar Parrish scored nine. Isaac Stanback totaled six points, eight rebounds and four assists in the victory. Hinsdale Central struggled with its shooting, hitting just 29.1 percent of its shots (16-of-55). Justin Bradshaw led the way for Hinsdale with 14 points and six boards. Sam Hoiberg came off the bench to score eight. Homewood-Flossmoor awaits the winner of the Lincoln Park/Maine South game in tomorrow’s quarterfinal at 8:30 p.m. Hinsdale Central will face the loser of the Lincoln Park/Maine South game in tomorrow’s 2:00 p.m. consolation game. |
