2018 GAME FOUR RECAP: DePaul Prep 60, Urban Prep Englewood 29 HINSDALE, Ill. – Perry Cowan and Raheem Anthony combined to score 40 points as DePaul Prep rolled into the quarterfinals of the 2018 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic with a 60-29 win over Urban Prep Englewood. DePaul (10-1) never trailed in the contest, punching its ticket to the quarterfinals with a convincing 31-point win. Urban Prep Englewood (0-6) tied the game on two occasions in the first quarter, but DePaul scored the final five points of the quarter to lead 13-8 after the first eight minutes. The Rams continued to pull away in the second, extending their lead to 12 points (27-15) at the half. Cowen and Anthony combined for two-thirds of the Rams’ points in the win. Cowan scored a team-leading 21 points while shooting 7-of-12 from the floor. Anthony added 19 points, five rebounds and three assists while hitting 6-of-7 shots. Tyler Johnson added eight points for the Rams. DePaul shot 51.3 percent (20-of-39) from the floor and dominated the game inside, outscoring Urban Prep 28-6 in the paint. Dillon Harris led Urban Prep in the loss with 10 points. The Lions struggled with their shooting, hitting just 21.9 percent (7-of-32) of its shots. DePaul Prep will take on St. Charles East in tomorrow’s quarterfinal at 5:15 p.m. Urban Prep Englewood will face Stevenson in the consolation bracket at 11:00 a.m. |
