2018 GAME 28 RECAP: Lincoln Park 65, Willowbrook 61 HINSDALE, Ill. – Lincoln park rallied from a 16-point second half deficit to upend Willowbrook 65-61 in a consolation game at the 2018 Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic. Willowbrook (7-5) used a big second quarter to open up a 27-18 lead at the half. The Warriors outscored Lincoln Park (10-6) 20-10 in the second quarter. Willowbrook extended its lead to 16 points (36-20) early in the third, but Willowbrook closed the final six minutes on a 21-2 run to carry a three-point lead into the fourth quarter. The score was tied at 57-57 with two minutes remaining, but Tahir Thompson rattled off five straight points to help Lincoln Park pull away for the win. Thompson led the Lions in the win with 13 points and eight rebounds. Michael Robinson and Ismail Habib added 12 points apiece while Awudu Habib finished with nine rebounds and five assists. The Lions shot 44.6 percent (25-of-56 ) from the field, including 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from three-point range. The Lions also outrebounded Willowbrook 46-36. Willowbrook shot 36.9 percent (24-of-65) from the floor in the loss. Levi Benson came off the bench to tie a single-game tournament record by knocking down six three-pointers. Benson finished with a game-high 22 in the loss. Everett Stubblefield added 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in the loss while Sam Tumilty scored 10. |
