2017 GAME 24 RECAP: Bolingbrook 59, Lincoln Park 56 HINSDALE, Ill. – Bolingbrook secure its second consecutive Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic championship game appearance by scoring a 59-56 win over Lincoln Park in the semifinals. The tightly contested first half featured eight lead changes and five ties with Bolingbrook building a 28-26 lead at the half. Trailing by two with four minutes left in the third quarter, Bolingbrook (10-1) scored the final seven points of the quarter to open up a five-point cushion (38-33) entering the fourth. The Raiders pushed their lead up nine points with three minutes left on the clock, before Lincoln Park (10-4) mounted one last rally. A three-point play from Chris Roberts brought the Lions to within three with 22 seconds left to play, but Tyler Cochran put back a missed free throw to put the Raiders back up by five with under 20 seconds remaining. Three players reached double figures in scoring to lead Bolingbrook. Kaleb Thornton totaled a team-leading 16 points while Joseph Yesufu added 12 points. Cochran finished with 11 points and a team-best nine rebounds. Bolingbrook shot 46.0 percent (23-of-50) from the field in the win. Roberts led Lincoln Park and all scorers with a game-high 20 points. Terrence Shannon added a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Lions. Lincoln Park shot 35.5 percent (22-of-62) from the floor but only 18.5 percent (5-of-27) from beyond the arc. Bolingbrook will take on Saint Rita in the championship game tomorrow at 8:30 p.m. Lincoln Park will face DePaul Prep in the third-place game at 7:00 p.m. |
