2016 GAME 21 RECAP: WESTINGHOUSE 52, LINCOLN PARK 42
Trailing 24-18 at the half, Westinghouse (6-6) rallied in the second, outscoring Lincoln Park (7-6) 34-18 in the game's final 16 minutes. The Warriors grabbed a 32-30 lead after three quarters before taking control in the fourth. Westinghouse started the fourth quarter with a 9-0 run fueled by seven points from Kramon Johnson, taking an 11-point lead in the process with just 3:41 to play. Lincoln Park came no closer than six points the rest of the way as Westinghouse advanced with the 10-point victory. Three players reached double figures in scoring to pace Westinghouse. Coreyoun Rushing finished with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds while Dexter Reed added a double-double of 12 points and 15 boards. Corinthian Fields chipped in with 12 for the Warriors. Westinghouse shot 43.9 percent (18-of-41) from the field, including 33.3 percent (4-of-12) from downtown. The Warriors finished with a 34-25 edge in rebounding in the win. Lincoln Park shot 33.3 percent (14-of-42) from the floor, including just 20.0 percent (3-of-15) from three-point distance. Hamza Gogobija and Terrence Shannon led the Lions in the loss with 11 points apiece. Westinghouse will face the winner of the Hinsdale Central/Rockford Auburn contest in the fifth-place game on Friday (December 30) at 5:15 p.m. Lincoln Park will take on the loser of the Hinsdale Central/Rockford Auburn game on Friday at 2:00 p.m. |
