2016 GAME 15 RECAP: HOMEWOOD-FLOSSMOOR 41, ROCKFORD AUBURN 26

HINSDALE, Ill. - Homewood-Flossmoor limited Rockford Auburn to just 26 points while scoring a 41-26 victory and advancing to the semifinals of the 2016 Hinsdale Central Holiday Tournament.

Homewood-Flossmoor scored the game's opening bucket and never trailed, leading wire-to-wire. The Vikings jumped out to a quick 11-3 lead and led 11-5 after the first quarter. H-F pushed its lead to 13 points in the second quarter and carried a 24-13 lead into the locker room at the half.

The Vikings pushed their lead up to 17 points early in the third quarter at 30-13, but Rockford Auburn (7-5) responded with a 10-1 run to pull to within eight near the end of the third quarter. Rockford Auburn came as close as seven points early in the fourth quarter, but Homewood-Flossmoor ran time off the clock and held the Knights scoreless for the final seven minutes while pulling away for the 15-point victory.

Jarrett Tribble paced Homewood-Flossmoor in the win, finishing with 17 points while shooting 8-of-9 from the field. Jeffrey Boyd added 13 points while Nicholas Holmes scored five. Cortez King-Parks totaled a team-leading nine rebounds. H-F shot 44.4 percent (16-of-36) from the floor, including 36.4 percent (4-of-11) from beyond the arc. The Vikings also won the battle on the glass 28-21.

Rockford Auburn shot just 26.3 percent (10-of-38) in the win and struggled from long distance, hitting just 1-of-17 (5.9 percent) from three-point distance. Tenoah Tatum scored a team-leading seven points in the loss.

Homewood-Flossmoor will face the winner of the DePaul Prep/Hinsdale Central contest in Thursday's semifinal at 8:30 p.m. Rockford Auburn will take on the loser of the DePaul Prep/Hinsdale Central contest in the fifth-place bracket on Thursday (December 29) at 5:15 p.m.
